Puntarenas, Costa Rica

 We had a fun day in Puntarenas Costa Rica. We took a bus ride to the Rainforest Tram, and then we took a bus to ride a boat on the Tarcoles River and then back on the boat to go to our ship. Our guide Roy gave us so much information and shared many goodies with us. He picked some lovely flowers from his wife’s garden; sorry no picture. He showed us how bananas grow one bunch on top of another, that picture is down below. Mini bananas grow in Costs Rica and he brought enough to share with everyone on the bus. They were good but pretty sweet. He also showed us how the cocoa beans grow inside the shell and let us taste the coating around the bean. He also shared a new product his friend is developing; it was a roasted cocoa bean saturated in a sugar coating. It was delicious. But unfortunately it was not available for purchase. More excitement was yet to come on the bus.
